What is Fiber Optics, Types and Feature of fiber optics

Fiber Optics created a revolution in the world of communications after entering the communications technology in the beginning of the twenty-first century, and unlike the types of cables and other wires that rely on the transmission of data on electrical vibrations, the fiber-optic cables transmit data through pulses. Medical applications have been used in several directions, as in exactly, to other many applications.

Fiber Optics: fibres made of pure glass, long and and thickness, and used in the transmission of light signals of far-off distances and high speeds.
Fiber Optic overview

Fiber Optic cables consist of :-

  1. The Mould (Core) is a very thin cylinder of super glass and no more than a fish thickness is moving through the light.
  2. the core or the reflector (cladding) which is the taxi of the core is designed to reverse the light continuously to remain inside the glass template.
  3. Cover Cover (buffer coating) a plastic cover covering the heart and heart and protect them from damage

Fiber-optic types

Fiber can generally be divided into two main types:

Fiber-Optic Fiber is only one light flare in each fiber-Optic Fiber, which is the fastest-quoted type of data used in telephone networks and television cable.
This type of fiber is characterized by a half-Diameter Glass Heart, where it reaches approximately Micron 9 (Where 1 Micro equals 0.001 mm) and passes through the infrared wavelength of 1.3-1.55 NM.

The Multi-Type Fiber-mode fiber is transported through the fiber-optic loofah, making it better for computer networks. This type of fiber is half a bigger diameter where it reaches 62.5 Micron and travels through infrared.

What are the features of Fiber Optics?

  1. Very fast data transfer started with (100 mi / w) has now reached more than (200.000 MI / w).
  2. The level of security against the wire is very high because it you digital data to a light pulse that does not have any electrical signals.
  3. The rate of low signals is significantly lower than the length of the wire.
  4. Impervious to electromagnetic interference that leads to jamming signals.
That's why this fiber can be extended in the form of large cables containing thousands of wires inside it without affecting the quality of communication.
And that's exactly what stc is promising in Saudi Arabia these days, and here are some pictures.
  5. Optical Fiber can be extended within one cable, which facilitates the installation process.
  6.  is not affected by water, but states are used to connect the internet between the oceans.

The main flaw in these cables or wires.

The only flaw is that it's difficult to construct and maintain and because it depends on glass, and the glass core is often broken at the very low we of a plastic core, but it can't hold the light of the light as vast as the glass.
